GOING HOME

Poem By: Anna Therese
Poetry

Of all the poems I have ever written and will ever write this is one of my very favuorites. It is not deep, dark, complicated, clever. It is a love poem, pure and simply... View table of contents...

No confining walls of pasty pastel
no speck free carpet I fear to tread on
no sterile garden with neatened edges
no willow patterns; no pretences

Front door open, welcome mat.

Food on the table, conversation
not inhibited nor judgemental
closets of concern
air freshened with acceptance

These are the things that bring me back.

(Sweetest memories always of the best ever parents in the world)

It makes me realise how lucky I was to have a well adjusted childhood. I am glad you like it, I think it is good to have some warm cheerful poetry that makes another smile.

What a lucky girl you were!! A lovely write and I can see why it is your favorite. I am happy that you didn't complicate the piece with deep and unclear phrasing. a warm and glowing tribute.....Jerry

Jerry thank you.
The wonderful legacy from my parents is that I can find beauty in humble, simple things. (and be brave enough to not to complicate the writing about them just because)

(smile) it sounds most wonderful Anna Therese*
and it has that inviting warmth*

I'm glad you like this one Pratibha. I go home in my mind so often. My parents were the best, I'll always miss them.

It sounds like the perfect household. Cozy, warm. My husband should read your poem. Teehee.
