I too am drawn by water and I love to be near the sea whatever the weather. When I drive across the Humber suspension bridge (UK) I have to stare straight ahead and breathe slowly and calmly, my knuckles go white as I clutch the wheel. If I am on a cliff edge above water the compulsion to jump is strong. And yes, what the sea can do can be terrible and then it goes all calm again as if nothing has happened. I like the poem and the style of writing.

The sea is so much like a fetching emerald....draws everyone closer and we all see it differently. This makes me crave the ocean. Crave! Darn, i am no where near it...so I shall read this again and dream.
My ocean poem is called Cosmic Pirate....while not entirely on the ocean it shows how important an icon the ocean can be in life.
Great work AT.

Hello Anna, I live in the mountains now but, I did grow up in the San Francisco Bay Area so, the sea was but a stone's throw away. I still sometimes miss the smells and sounds of the sea. The sea life that dwells there, in and above the water, the sound of the tides and surf crashing upon the sandy and rocky shores, especially the wonderful and bountiful food that came from the depths of the great blue green sea.
Thank you very much for allowing me to enter into some long forgotten memories!
