I SOMETIMES SEE ME

Poem By: Anna Therese
Poetry

Tags: poem, hope, courage, sad

We have all had darker periods in our lives. This was written during one of those times. I just wanted to share, to let you know that we can climb away from grief, addictions, sense of unreality, dissappointments, life struggles etc. with determination and courage and by being kind to ourselves.
Just to let you know I understand, this poem still makes me weep however. View table of contents...

I sometimes see me
Tap-dancing in the shadows
Whirlwind wisps of nothing
Eddying in the black depths
Of her beautiful sad eyes

I sometimes hear me
Singing soft and sweetly
Songs caught within my soul
Echoing to chasms of nowhere
Misty fragments of her mind

I wish that you could see her
Tap-dancing out of shadows
Whirl across the line of darkness
Dancing wildly in the light!

I wish that you could hear her
Singing sweet but louder
Songs to pierce your soul
Songs of joy and hope and courage

As she dances for my life!

Thanks Irwin, one I perhaps would not normally share but says something. Probably could say more if I explained what is behind it but for now I am happy to let the poem speak.

Sometimes our expression at such times makes poignant poetry. Not always easy to share.

Incredibly moving Anna, you have written just how I feel sometimes.

Very deep and very well written.

I hope you have brighter days

Peace

Boneman

Brighter days are here for me Boneman. One moves on but never forgets.

Yeah! The most important thing it is not the fall but how you are going to get up! Good Anna, you said a lot to many people .

Thanks Jborrti, when I wrote this there was a mixture of despair and hope and if you never give up good things will happen.

Very well written. To quote one of my favorite bands, Aerosmith, "Life's a journey, not a destination"
My past is my greatest asset.

Thanks and thanks for your quote shared.

The benefits of writing when you have dark moments is that you can recall, as you do, that dark place but more so that you have been able to tap dance your way out of it. It is those tiny dancing steps towards the light that help us grow and make us strong. I loved your poem. Annie

Thanks seesawme, it was written at a time when I had a lot of despair but also a lot of resolve to change.

could not stop myself from not rating this as "I like it"

I felt like hugging you ....

Yeah, I do see myself dancing in rain , walking bare foot on grass, smelling the earth after first rain drops kisses her....
And voila...depression gone,,,,,
Thanks

Pratibha I think what I learned most at that time in my life was that I had to hug myself. I truly was my worst punisher and enemy and it has taken some time to feel strong and worthy again and to be as kind to me as I have always been to others.

Utterly beautiful and just as true.

It is strange how a poem written at a time when I was feeling a blend of despair (and yet hope) can still be OK. Thanks for lovely comment.

Beautiful as dancing your heart out ^^

This poem means a lot to me, represents a turning point. Thank you.

This is a powerful poem, I can see the relation of strength at the end to over come adversity. The meaning and drive of the poem made me contemplate. I really enjoy poetry when it makes me think deeply. You have done a splendid job.

Wlffe a wonderful comment thank you. I also enjoy thought provoking poetry.

Life is a show where the performer acts as the spectator at the same time. Unlike any other shows, yours doesn't reach its finale yet. Keep goin'. ^^

Beautifully written. ^^
