False tears hurt others and false smiles hurt onself
Society decides that we live amongst one another
Whilst so easily communicating with lies
Like reciting words from books on a shelf.
What mask will you wear tomorrow?
What facade will you put up?
Or whose words will you borrow
When acting in your everyday life
As your face does not display sorrow
Nor will your expression change
Because you're nothing but hollow.
Oh, what act will you show tomorrow?
For your true emotions no longer belong
You've buried them deep under
So deep that you can no longer feel them as strong.
Child, do not be afraid to be the way you want
I'm sure no one ever said to you that you shouldn't.
Individuality exists for a reason
Don't suffocate in silence
But instead, let those emotions deepen
And live with your conscience.
Nobody is perfect
And I'm sure you're aware
If not, then I'll teach you
That such cases are not rare.
Happiness, sadness, joy, anger and even despair
Are inevitable that you will experience
So that you will grow as a person who will be just and fair.
Now, I've talked for far too long
So I'll conclude one thing
And that is --
Throw away that cheap and fake mask
And be your unique and beautiful self.
