Poetry

O, how the bitterness of the soul can be compared to the biting ice on the rolling sea...

The on the Sea

Arena Hunter

The ice in my heart is as cold as the sea,

The northwinds pass, the southwinds scream.

And who should know that love from afar

Should not be for me, is not meant for all?

The one whom I love is desperate and gone,

Never see moonlight, never see sun.

Bitter ice on the ocean, salty and cold--

Why did you not release my love from your hold?

Why did you keep him, twist him, shame him?

And why did you stop him, his heart beats not again.

This dagger I have is as cold as the sea,

The northwinds pass, the southwinds scream.

And I should hear a voice from afar

He beckons for me, love beckons for all.

Now it shall be I who is desperate and gone,

To never see moonlight, never see sun.

Bitter ice on the ocean, salty and cold--

Will you not release my heart from your hold?

The ice on the sea will swallow me whole,

After the dagger has made dead my soul.
