I hate when things have to end up like this.

It's a pain I grew use to,
A little too soon - early on before I knew it.
Now I know you can love someone,
And hate them at the same time.
It's a new meaning to Love-Hate Relationship.

The ship's sinking,
A white flag of surrender won't amount to anything,
The war still rages on,
Silently, we're losing.
Can't go on for much longer, somehow we pull through it.

There's a little craziness to go with these lies,
I learned to live with it,
And try to find order in this mess.
I'll slip and give up just a little,
Pick it up and say "I'm alright, for tonight".
Even if I'm not.

Year long shows, bow down as the roses fly.
Isn't it a good act? Kinda had you fooled, didn't I?
Never knew it was fake until I asked.
And you got me thinking to myself,
"How stupid could I be?"
It wasn't me, it was you.

But I have to thank you,
For teaching me that when it crashes, it burns.
That sometimes all you can do, is rely on yourself.

As this war rages on.
We're both losing, but no one cares.
One soldier down, a million to go.
