A dying flame

Poetry By: Arid Land Kate

Hi guys, this is probably all you will hear of me for a while. So I based this on a book I read and my opinion of it, it's a new book so those who know of it should be able to guess what it is. I guess I wanted to show that there's no such thing as 'good' and 'bad'. Enjoy :)

A dying flame

Here I lie,

The ground sodden beneath me,

Sins weighed heavy on my soul,

Here I lie for all to see.

Call off your reinforcements,

Lay the weapons down,

Celebrate the death,

Of a fighter for a crown.

Terrible crimes have been commited,

A stain on the soul that cannot wash away,

Sacrifices and prayers have gone unanswered,

The best of us going astray.

The war is over,

Cease the fight,

Show survivors mercy,

On this dark night.

When there are two sides to this war,

What is good and what is bad?

The ones that would do anything for their cause,

Or the pure, true and iron clad?

Here I die,

The leader of a side,

A martyr for my supporters,

Now nothing more than a dark receding tide....
