The Drowning Soul

The moonlight streaked across the sky

On this black night a child would die

Cursed and bedraggled since sweet babes birth

To fight and scrounge for some inkling of worth

Legs hanging over for the waters kiss

Seeping through her in a traveling bliss

In bloody veins up to her heart

Clear water to tear her soul apart

Through her eyes liquid poured

Becoming one with her core

Dissolving her to water now one

Everything she could have been is done

Lifeless body with no soul

Never again to be whole

Slowly drifting out to sea

Now the child is finally free
