Walking into autumn's gentle caress

Footprints are heard trying to suppress

The ringing of bells from a past long gone

But still that shadow keeps walking along

Into the complete embrace of the sun

The path dreaded was now forgotten

Yet every new dawn brings the same fear

Someone walking along may still hear

Sometimes at dust that corner so dark

Deep in the heart rekindles that spark

The remembrance of the walk on that path

Cause the mind to revolt and ascend into wrath

An unfortunate moment may still recall

The walk on that path, that pit and that fall

Low voices then rise and revolt

The images of the past are then impossible to halt

A shadow then peace, it all passes away

Yet sometimes a fear that some might say

On a dark night in the depth of autumn

Someone may pass on the path long forgotten
