When you are vulnerable,
People can attack.
You no longer have a shield to protect you,
Whether that shield may have been hate or mistrust.
When you are vulnerable,
Nothing can stop people from getting through to hurt you,
To steal your soul,
To change you.
Love is sometimes not enough to keep away the darkness,
And the people who want to destroy.
Evil will find a way,
Because it always has.
Even though you may be afraid,
You have to just take a chance,
And hope for the best,
Hope that things go your way.
You may have to work a little harder,
But you have to learn to trust.
Even though you are vulnerable,
Not all want to hurt you.
Some just want to be your allies,
And you may be keeping out the people
Who want to help you,
And the people who truly love you and care.
Try to stand back up after a fall alone,
You have to believe in yourself,
And in others.
Sometimes you may feel broken,
And like things can’t get any worse,
But you have to keeping pushing on,
And don’t let go of hope.
Being vulnerable isn’t always bad.
You can open up to people,
You don’t always have to be by yourself in this cruel world.
You could have someone to help ease the pain,
To help you through the suffering.
Fear always keeps people from the people they love,
From your dreams and hopes.
When you are vulnerable,
Fear comes,
And tries to take over.
But you have to stand tall,
And overcome it.
No one is invincible,
They all have fears and weaknesses,
All they do not want to stand alone
And be taken down easily.
If you push everyone away,
You’ll be by yourself when you’re vulnerable,
You’ll have no one.
