If Oceans Were Hope
If oceans were hope,
Let mine fill the space
Between me and my dreams
And the world that you face.
Let memory be reason
And distance be strength,
And let years in the world
Be but seconds in length.
If wanting were voice,
Let mine raise the ground.
Yet grant it the volume
Of silence, in sound.
For if words, so fine,
Could untangle fates rope;
There’d be no need for reason,
Nor oceans for hope.
