I must declare, in the simplest of ways,
I will remember for the rest of my days
Your laugh, your scent, your face, your smile
For you I could, and would, run a mile.
I realise now that it was a mistake
To let you go and simply take
And not to give you all I could
And not to love you the way I should.
You bring out a smile on the darkest of days
Your smile was brighter than the sun’s rays,
Now you’re gone, you’re no longer around
I’m all alone and don’t hear the sound
Of both your laugh and your voice
But of course, your departure, wasn’t your choice
.
