Don't be frightened little one,

vampires can be lots of fun.

They love to laugh and play at night,

and sometimes give little children fright.

But do not fear their toothy smile,

invite them in to stay a while.

perhaps they'll have some tea or wine,

as long as they leave before the sun shines.

They do not wish to cause you harm,

truly they wish you no alarm.

It is only the blood of those you hold dear

that sustains their cravings and feeds your fear.

They do not like the sun's bright rays

so they do not come out in the days.

They wish only to coexist

with the creatures they need to subsist.
