She sat in the corner, and watched them whisper
'What a freak' they laughed, and she laughed too
But her laugh was bitter
She walked up to them 'Of my life, you have no clue.
-Shh, don't speak!
Let me tell a story, let me spin you a lore
About a girl the world deemed weak
Yet there was so much more
And now, the story begins'
'From the start,
responsibility took up much of the girl's heart
Duty to her family, her kin
her mother, her brother, her cousin
So she let the duties consume her
And life became a blur
For, the responsiblity replaced love
Which fills life, nothing above
She had friends,
And they promised to be there 'til the end.
And for a long time, she couldn't love, so she didn't love them
But they tore at the responsibilty, and she felt like she was choking it up like phelgm.
She learned to love, from these friends
And for that, she'd thank them to the end
But so naive was she
She never knew how treacherous people could be
That she couldn't have her duties complete
And friends too, for this was an impossible feat
Until the day it happened
And her heart was forever blackened
Her "friends" betrayed her,
and her heart became as cold as a fox without its fur.
They left her for another
Because they found it fun, hurting her
The girl cried, her tears eeming to never stop
Because for her life was a living hell, and she was a flop
But, time went by, and she rebuilt her heart
It was stronger now, and she would never let the walls fall apart
She hid her heart, she hid her sould
Waiting for the day when her story would be told
So people would know
What she did not show
That she was hurt, that she was destroyed
That she decided to make her feelings forever deployed
She did it because of love, and because of pain
Because of the laughter, that a few girls caused her pain to gain
So never again would she trust
For love she would never lust'
She looked at the girls who were teary-eyed, and mock bowed
'That was then, this is now
You were the "friends,"
And that girl, she was ME.
of her story, this is the end,
And for that girl, all she'll ever be
Is the girl you chose as unworthy.'
