Hope is seeing the shore,

while drifting helplessly in the foaming sea.

Hope is a silhouette,

in the blackest darkness.

Hope is a feeling of calm,

in a stormy mind.

Hope is a vision or thought,

of something better.

Hope is floating higher,

In the deepest of depressions.

Hope is hearing a sound,

in the world of utter silence.

Hope is a good dream,

instead of all nightmares.

Hope is a wish,

for a brighter future.

Hope is a good thought,

to replace one of the bad.

Hope is a desire,

where there was only despair.

Hope is an expectation,

when all seemed wrong.

Hope is wanting,

when all was lost.

Hope is a pond in the desert,

when you are dying from thirst.

Hope is losing the pain,

when we ache so much.

Hope is all around us,

but often impossible to see.

We need to imagine hope,

admit the possibility to ourselves.

We need to have the courage to grab for it,

knowing that we may fail.
