-- Hypocrite --
Hypocrisy is professing one thing and doing another
Lying not only to ourselves but our sister and brother
When we go and visit the animals at the local zoo
Do we encourage the trapping of animals to accrue
When we say we want to save our planet from abuse
But take unneeded trips not caring for the gas we use
When we preach about our love for our fellow man
But walk by the needy, and not offer to give a hand
We complain about moral degradation from the norm
But click the internet link that promotes a look at porn
When we buy products made from dead animal parts
Without searching for alternatives by using our smarts
We advise our sons and daughters, to never tell a lie
But hide the truth from them; to us, it doesn’t apply
We respect a person’s right to privacy, or so we say
But we share their secrets in gossip every other day
We point out that our friends spoil their children rotten
But the times we do the same, are conveniently forgotten
People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones for sure
So think before you preach and shut up if you’re not sure
