Men Cry, I do!
By: Joe Attanasio
I have more to ponder, as I get older
I am reluctant to give a cold shoulder
I pay close attention to what people say
Every word I carefully weigh
My values have changed
Or at least rearranged
So many things, I cannot lie
Nowadays make me cry
I used to have the heart of a man
At least when young, that’s how I began
Now so many things I find dear
Tax my heart and bring a tear
I am not ashamed to care
I dare to let my soul be bare
I don’t care what others say
Head games I don’t play
My armor is old but strong
I know what’s right and wrong
I do not have much apathy
So many things mean a lot to me
Injustice makes me choke
My feelings I don’t cloak
Today I saw the movie “Hugo”
And my tears, I let go
I feel sorry for some men
That never shed a tear when
Their hearts get heavy and ache
Their composure will not break
Just saying, how I feel
My words and emotions are real
No matter boy or man
If you need to, cry if you can
If you have the urge to cry
Don’t hold back until you die
Go ahead and let it fly
It matters not if you’re a guy!
