I become a skeptic when I am online these days
I take nothing at face value, I feel I must appraise
You say you are a woman, it may well be untrue
You say your story’s true, perhaps its lies you spew
.
Things you claim to have for sale; not really there
Testimonials on your page, written just to snare
The price you quote, resembles not the final bill
The promises you make, that you will not fulfill
.
Ask for information you say that you’ll not share
Or tell me I won’t be contacted; then your there
You claim to have only my best interests at heart
But all you do consider is the corporate pie chart
.
False information through social media you tell
Expounding all the benefits, of what it is you sell
You sent me tracking cookies every time I click
Then pepper me with ads, you think you’re slick
.
On Booksie some are not what they claim to be
They lie about their situation to a various degree
When I see unsuspecting people buying all the lies
I worry that they're gullible to believe in this disguise
.
Recently I noticed someone’s most outrageous claim
Posted here on Booksie, I believe they play a game
Readers are blindly buying in and being duped by lies
But this old man is skeptical and has discerning eyes
