Why I write poems..
By: Joe Attanasio 2011
Poetry to me,
Is more then I can see.
Poetry I can feel,
Is a big deal.
My words from the heart,
Else I never start.
Words from the soul,
Always my goal.
Poetry an expression,
Not a profession.
Words to stir your thought,
Lessons to be taught.
Words that share,
Ideas that scare.
Events you can relate,
Emotions used as bait.
I write to rid my guilt,
Feelings stitched like quilts.
Words that make me free,
Listen to my plea.
I want to tell a story,
I can pass the glory.
I need to touch someone,
I hope you’re the one.
I want you to contemplate,
I want you to relate.
Dig deep and think,
I hope we are in sinc.
My words not always flower,
But I hope have power.
For I am but a common man,
Feel me, touch me, if you can.
