When the prescription runs out, it's time for self medication

Dreadful intoxications that cause harsh hallucinations

The simplest things you will approach with hesitation

And your daily inebriation can lead to your austere desolation

Your trembling reservations soothed by sharp elevations

And your continuous degradations cause your heart palpitations.

Far from standard, come the immense deviations

From our fate,

A broken heart sent into a bradycardial state

Life has its highs and lows, just as your heartbeat slows

Slows to a crawl and you crawl to the finish line

You just want the pain to end, it's oh so asinine

You think it's all for naught but the answers come in time

And you pray they reveal themselves before the flat line

. . .

Drink in a gluttonous love and dine in gratuitous hate

The sun prevails outside, but the storm in your mind doesn't abate

The hatred consumes you as you reach for familiar devices

A world with concealed virtues and evident vices

Packed full of people, hateful and malevolent

Who tote around a "good book" and claim superior benevolence

But who's the savior of the children with the horrific addictions

Drugs without prescriptions and wrongful convictions

Born into a world integrated by extradition

In truth, segregation fuels their ambition

We fear we what don't understand/ our worst tradition

We push out what we don't know, what we don't want to accept

Call ourselves pure when our hearts are unkempt

Anyone who doesn't think like us is labeled inept

They pretend to praise differences, but this was a lie

It's their way or no way. Conform or you die.
