A colony of fairies lived in woods by a stream;
I saw them for myself last night in lovely dream.
One danced and one sang; daintily on wings;
heavenly music heard; when the fairy sings.
~~~~~~~~~
One sat on the moss; oh so green and lush;
Cheeks like rose petals; color of her blush.
Gowned in lavender; she was their Queen;
the most beautiful fairy that I’ve ever seen.
~~~~~~~~~~
A tiny crown adorned her head of golden hair;
she sipped nectar from a flower; without a care.
Their palace was an old oak tree; hollowed out;
where white daisies grew; sprinkled round about.
~~~~~~~~~~
From this lovely dream ; I did not wish to wake;
but stay in their presence; this world to partake.
Gentle little creatures of many fables written;
watching them this night; I was totally smitten.
~~~~~~~~~~
Waking in the morning; I still could hear their song;
for the oak tree palace fairies; my heart did so long.
Then upon my pillow I spied an unexpected sight;
bouquet of daisies lay; like the ones seen last night.
