Fear not ma’am I’m back; I never really went away;
I was on bright side of your mind; there I went to play.
Winter’s cold and dreary; there was warm ya know;
when I seem to disappear; you’ll know where I go.
~~~~~~
I swam in beaches made of memories inside your head;
picked up seashells; that you’d seen but left instead.
In your mind you have saved a ton of good places;
for me to play; sight see; and meet all new faces.
~~~~~~
For you they are old memories; but to me they are new;
I’m stuck at age six; so I never traveled as much as you.
I rode a boat and flew in a plane; that was sure a treat!
Vacationing in Kodiak; now that was a memory sweet;
~~~~~~
I’m glad you went there in summer; not cold or snow;
I fished for salmon just like you; saw the ones you know.
Your daughter and her husband; and granddaughter too;
In your memory they’re still there; a year younger or two.
~~~~~~
I enjoyed my time away; keep making memories for me;
so when I get bored I can travel in them completely free!
Sorry if I worried you; it wasn’t my intent to make you fret;
But if ya ask me if I’m sorry I went; I don’t have one regret!
