Seasons of Strife

Poetry By: Ava Rosien

Many times in my life I have lived through life altering events that brought about change for the better. Although I failed to see them as that in the beginning; I know now that everything that happened was for a reason.

My philosophy in life is that

things happen for a reason;

good or bad; rain or shine;

each thing has its season.

We can cower down; and

be forever lost in fear;

or firmly stand our ground

realize better day is near.

Turn trouble into triumph;

the lesson it has to teach.

Life's trials turned upside down;

builds a ladder for us to reach;

Steps made in circumstance

for which there was no reason;

happening, whether good or bad;

each thing has a season.

Things we think were sent ;

so unfairly to cause us sorrow;

are meant to move us forward;

entering a new tomorrow.

Wisdom is not ours to know;

why or how long to bear;

things that upon first look,

there to cause us despair;

Consider them gifts of change;

we would have never chosen.

our reaction makes the difference;

to move or stay frozen.

As the seasons have a purpose;

keeping Nature's perfect balance;

Its the hills and valleys that serve

making us creatures of valiance.
