I hope but for a glimmer of recognition;
no more than that; all my heart would ask.
Pleads my soul; a most respectful petition;
a moment's gaze to sooth my ache at last.

you do not know the power that you hold.
You make my heart tell a thousand lies;
how you might love me; it speaks so bold.

Tresses of golden strands; and lips like dew;
cheeks blushed with rose; thy nature meek.
I have longed my life away; for love of you.
worth the years spent; just to hear you speak.

By class I am unworthy to ask such grand favor;
not a noble born; wishes for love are in vain.
for one quick smile; I would forever savor;
be content to live out my life in love lorn pain.
