So luminous it twinkles,
Glowing like a light bulb when the world has fallen
So far away, yet so close,
Whispering quietly in the darkness and guiding us through the night.
It lies in the heavens so peacefully,
Silently daring us to stroke it
It has no troubles, no wishes,
Only fulfilling its duty when comes the time.
Temptation flowing through our veins,
We ever so slowly reach out to the atmosphere
Touching, feeling, loving,
But yet, returning with bare hands.
We smell its scent; we taste its flavor,
Soaking our surroundings in
We hear its prayers, though it has none,
And watch its fluorescent shine.
As we observe its power,
We slowly drift off into the night
But though our eyes are shut we do still watch,
As it too, overlooks us –its planet.
