When purity is often shamed, degraded and disdained,

When truth is banished out of sight and only lies remain,

When hatred gushes over us like burning acid rain,

When what is right has been reduced to something just not done,

When every hope and dream is devoured by the urge to flee and run,

When humanity has been consumed by lust for the inanimate,

When even divine intervention seems to arrive a tad too late,

Just such a time has been ordained in every book of faith,

Like blinded fools we all just wait and dare the hands of fate,

We sit in our worlds of fragile glass, staring at our doom,

Not caring that a shroud of darkness upon all conscience looms,

Alas we mortals oft forget that what rises crashes down,

No matter how one might deny, to all our sins we are bound.

Our lies, our apathy, our every hateful action is to blame,

For the broken world around us which alone just cries in shame.

I really like this poem. It captures the raw emotions that I often feel everyday looking out into the world and makes them poetic. Well done.

Thankyou so much! my poems are completely instinctive, and its a true pleasure to know that my poems can resonate with someone else.

What rises crashes down? oh no! aaaak! that struck a chord with me...

you are very poetic and use deep words that hit hard. that's a good thing!

You softly cry for divine intervention but it arrives too late...that's where we as mortals need to rise above!

OR, i may be totally moronic on this.
Great job.

Hello again,
To keep this short i would like to tell you that in this poem i tried to deal with human arrogance and greed, as well as touch upon the pain and suffering inflicting humanity.
Each verse tells the tale of a different person, for example when you mention divine intervention, i wanted to portray people who have nothing to hope for except heavenly help. So much death and destruction is going on today and for people like me, living in countries like ours, divine intervention seems to be the only prayer left.

very nice written....and nice wording as well
I liked..

Thanx Dinesh, i am glad you liked it.

It is so sad but there is light at the end of the tunnel. God commended his love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Love you, Azmat.

Thankyou so much Susan. I also believe that ultimately there is light at the end of this dark tunnel that is todays's world, and that light is the light of understanding and love for all our fellow human beings, the day we look past our differences all will be well.
