HOPE is a flower that only blooms in adversity and strife,
it does not need the Sun to shine nor rain to give it life,
pain and regret, loss and self doubt are what keep it alive,
faith is the ground it stands upon only belief can make it thrive.
It is like a fire that may be drowned, but in embers it will live,
no matter how much one takes from it, it always has more to give,
For this one truth canot be touched by the ravenous wolves of hate,
That HOPE may seem to be so weak yet it can conquer fate.
All right. I have now found time to read your poetry and once again - sorry it took me so long. Also, another reason why I put it off was because I wanted to leave you good feedback. You mentioned that you've seen some of my comments and some of them I go in depth with. I wanted to do that with your poetry. I read one of your poems when you first stopped by and I was speechless. I honestly couldn't think of anything to say XD
But today I seem to be in a in-depth mood. So here I go:
First and foremost - I absolutely adore this poem.
Secondly - I loved the comparisons you made with hope. First it was a flower that blooms in only certain conditions, which the conditions you described "adversity" and "strife" were perfection because it is indeed those times that hope is at its strongest. And then you went on to make the analogy of hope to fire. My jaw dropped at this point because the way you worded it "It is like a fire that may be drowned, but in embers it will live" the last part of that line was lovely. I couldn't think of a better way to phrase it! And then for some reason that made me think of the burning bush that Moses saw... how it kept burning and yes, it symbolized God, and God gives us hope. So that made me even more awe-struck XD
And then comes that last line - score! a homerun!
"That HOPE may seem to be so weak yet it can conquer fate"
- when you are about to give up, when you are on your knees, when life is rough and you are falling apart and breaking on the inside, hope will come and it can conquer anything and above all - fate! it can change the way things were supposed to be. with a little hope, faith, and perserverance (sp?) then you can rise above the strife ^^
once again - i absolutely adore this poem and i think you wrote it beautifully. there were some great clips of imagery and serveral memorable lines.
it was a brilliant and breathtaking read!
you are quite the talented one :)
