Like pearls the teardrops drifted down,

Encased in fear, upon a frown,

An angels wings are tarnished gold,

The siren's song remains untold.

Effervescent dreams ride the sable night,

They glow like beacons of endless light,

These glittering lights she see's aglow,

taunt her with their sensous glow.

They circle round just out of reach,

To gaze at them is painful still,

But to let go is an impossible feat,

 never accomplished because of greed.

With a blinded soul and hopeful heart,

She steps aboard Noah's ark,

To a new world they will but ride,

A new beginning in their sights.

This ship of dreams will buck and sway,

But she'll hold fast, her nerves won't fray,

untill that day when angels sing,

Redemption is what they will bring.

Than you, i am sure she will respond pretty soon. And knowing her she will be right on the money.

NOAH'S ARK - they must have laughed - UNTIL THE FLOOD

Yeah no doubt about it LOL.

Hello Azmat,

Lovely to see Urja recognised by a Poet of your stature. I too will be interested to see Urja's interpretation as well as yours of your previous Poem.

Kind regards,
Susan

Ha! Urja loves the thoughts of fetish boots along with her very brilliant mind, charismatic nature, sultry curves and sincere friendship.

Bravo Azzie.

thanx again babe. I am glad you liked it.

Beautifully written, I truly enjoyed reading it as it flowed and ebbed with grace and emotion and colour. Urja put a kind comment on my page recently and I can sense her warmth, I can also sense yours.

thanx, I hope she does too(fingers crossed).

AZMAT! I am thrilled to have something so beautiful dedicated to me! And to think that I did not log on to booksie for two days and missed this sweet gesture!

For me, the following stanza holds the key to the entire poem:

'Effervescent dreams ride the sable night,
They glow like beacons of endless light,
These glittering lights she see's aglow,
taunt her with their sensous glow.'

It talks of a restless spirit, unwilling to remain fettered by the meaningless and the mundane. And naturally so, when they 'taunt her with their sensuous glow'... Yet, they still 'circle round just out of reach', which is why it is painful to gaze at them - they dazzle us with their brilliance, but having seen the light, we cannot look away.

It talks of people like us, who, though cynical at times, have not lost hope; at the same time, we recognize the necessity to distance ourselves from that which is detrimental to the wholesomeness of our spirits. We recognize the futility of the rage and fear and mindlessness around us - and we step aboard the Noah's Ark (which, to me, is a metaphor for creativity and its pursuit). Yes, the ship will certainly buck and sway, but we will hold fast, weather many a storm, chart our own course and discover newer horizons, newer shores.

And here's from one mariner to her fellow! A BIG THANKS! And Bon Voyage!

I absolutely LOVE it!

Thank you. Wow i am amazed at the depth of your understanding. You have made more sense of this poem than i ever could. Way to go. I am so happy it touched you to such an extent. And yes it does personify people like us, people who aree indeed a little weary and cynical but people who still have hope and look to the future.
I am so happy you liked your gift.

I have known Urja for only a year. I met her in India. And SHE CHANGED MY LIFE INSIDE OUT...I tried so many times to write something special for her...but could never find the right words, the right rhyming, the right ambience to suit her GRAND personality...
She is just URJA - The fire, the ENERGY, THE LOVE of my LIFE...

I am what I am because of her...If she would not have encouraged me, i would never started writing and my dream for writing would always stayed inside my heart...and probably would have died with me too...

She took me out of my hard shell with the gentleness as soft as that of a Sister and with steady hands...

She made me join GYM and lose weight...and feel good...a thing MY MOM And MY HUSBAND could never achieve in 6 years and SHE DID IT IN ONE DAY...she just said,"u should join GYM, YOU will feel good." She never criticised how fat i was ...i went and joined GYM the same evening and since then, i am regular in Gym...i lost weight, started writing and inspite of being lonely here in Canada with no friends, i never felt lonely and helpless since she was there whenever i needed her...

i have bored her to the core with my 1000 page mails and she has answered all of them with patience and love and without missing any single point....

She is SHE...no one can ever be like HER....She is my love, my sister and everything I had ever wished for in my life...

HAd she been in my life earlier, i would achieved more in my life...

She is the only person whose Criticisms encourage me to be better and i never take it to heart ...i listen to her when she asks me NOT to do something because i know that if she has said "NO", there is a reason behind that....

i am still searching for words to write something on her...
