Love Doesn't Mean I Like You

Poem By: B Leaf
Poetry

This is a poem to my father and fathers day I was going to email him but I did not have his email. The mailing address I do have but I'm lazy as he was. This is an angry poem spur of the moment not really any planning foresight. View table of contents...

Love Doesn't Mean I Like You

Here's to you

Cheers to number eighteen

Seven without me

I forgive you

I do love you

My love

Is it worth something

Yes

To you

I'm uncertain

Nice effort

Way to be there

Hows work treating you

Anger

Grudges

Distain

Held

Yet Burried

One must

Love

Thy father

Love

Doesn't meen I Like you

Thanks for the cards at christmas

There in the garbage

Shredded to bits

Just like the time we spent

Lacking and segmented

Full of mistakes

This wife of yours

I can distaine

Boy do I

Tell her that she is why

What a son

Picking at one

Family strung

Thirteen

Against

Eleven

Attacks that change

My shape

My mind

My mold

My strength

My life

Thanks for that Dad

I grew older

You grew colder

My life turns to hell

You left to let me fall

Who can counsel a boy

What figure do I have to follow

Who can I go to for advice

Oh wait

Mom went into new relationships

Thrice

None of them

Could replace you

One came close and did better than you

Then he decided to go and leave too

He went to his daughter

Not just me

He was a real father

I would have been there

When you passed away

I may still be there

The real question is will you be there

To see my family

Be a worse grandpa then a father to me

Can you be real and grow old with me

If future predicts history

It doesn't seem to be

Well you won't even be

The part of my brain that holds

My Magical Memories

Try and grow old with that step son

The one that you cared about more then me

Your real son

Let that hag make you think that I'm dumb

Grades mean jack shit

I'm smarter then her take that to the bank

For all it's worth

Your so called honor student

Well he was hardly less the prude

Thanks for coming to the basket ball games I had

You know I loved basketball

Because at one point

I wanted to be like you dad

But now I'm way past that

Your just sad

Welcome to the world dad I will give you my love this fathers day.

P.S. Love Doesn't Mean I Like You

Thanks more of something anger based and spur of the moment just to get my feelings on paper did not take the time to technically make it sound and elegant.

I really like this poem. I can't say I relate to it because my daddy died when I was four. But I had an evil step father...ugh. *stabs him to death* Ahm. Sorry...Good job.
