Alive And Gone

Poetry By: babyblue424

Written a little while ago: it was a time where I was constantly feeling down and depressed, hopeless and useless.

What is it?

I used to know.

How does it feel?

I can't feel anymore, so I don't know.

I'm numb to the core.

My brain doesn't function,

And my heart is lifeless;

As my limbs only follow by habit,

I walk as I am dead.

I will talk,

But I won't know what I've said.

I will listen,

But there is no sign of comprehension.

It's more than that.

I know everything I need to know.

I live my life,

But I am not alive.

Do I need help?

I'm beyond help.

I'm not crazy,

I'm real,

And I have been for too long.

I am not broken,

I'm shattered.

A strong word in my life;

Powerful and meaningful.

That word is what has me detached,

It is what has stopped me,

From continuing to live.

I live my life,

But I am not alive.

I am here,

But translucent to the world.

Should I give up?

Should I end it?

That's what it is,

But what life?

Very little;

But a whole lot.

It, is hanging by a thread.

A thick thread carried by two people,

And one word.

Jasmine and Devan,
