Spend eighteen years waiting

For that perfect guy

The one who walks into my life

I see him coming

And I just can't resist

The temptation to be with him

So I run to his arms

We stand

Still with each other

Until everything crumbles

The smile fades

Buried by grief

I am empty

Broken

Left in the crowd

As he walks

The other direction

I sigh in my soul

Oh how I want him back

I need him now

More than ever before

He caught me

When I was open,

Totally vulnerable

He left me

When I was ready

To be his girl.
