boy you sure are daring. such a contraversal subject. although I agree with you, because there is no such thing as death, and yes living in a diseased body is torture. an end to the physical isn't an end to the person it's only a deliverance from pain. I wish you luck with this one. :) :) katie

Disagree, most vehemently, with your perspective and opinion. The solution to human suffering is not the voluntary or involuntary destruction of human life. Modern medicine has the means to block the pain of the terminally ill. Moreover, patients can, in advance, give "do not resusitate" instructions to care-givers without violating any moral or ethical standards with which I am aware.

Another issue:

If you have a healthy appetite for controversy, why then did you not keep your posting of "A Muslim In The White House" posted. As I wanted my own comment on it to continue to be posted as well. The Booksie people assured me that they did not remove it from the Booksie website. So someone is not being truthful. Unless some 3d party was able to invade the site and remove it without anyone knowing about it. Read the following.

2. In May, 2007, someone or something invaded my work-station and deleted my folder of Booksie correspondence after not receiving any posting alerts for those writers, of whom I am a fan, for a period of weeks. Don't know what happened but I also wish to have my copies of our correspondence, with one another, returned.

3. Have also noticed, as before and on an intermittent basis, some readers have left me comments without there being a corresponding increase in the number of reads. For the same posting. Makes me think that some of the Booksie programming staff may be, clandestinely, exercising their own editorial bias with respect to what is posted. Merely because the topics are controversial and some may find the views expressed to be objectionable. Or they may be favoring or "handicapping" some of the Booksie members posting their work. For example: My #-of-reads are modest but my #-of-fans ranking is high. Though this may be a meaningless correlation, on my part, it seems most mysterious to me.

Hi Ed,

We have not removed any of bellavistabear's postings. He may have taken the work down himself or they may have not received enough activity on subsequent days to stay in the rankings. I do believe one of his poems made it to the homepage today.

I'm not sure what you mean by invaded work station. We have no access to your computer and couldn't delete something from it.

In terms of views, pages refresh at different times so it may take a few minutes for the view counter to update after someone has visited. We're working to change that and make it more real-time. I wonder if this is where the discrepancy is coming from?

I hope that answers some of your questions.

On another note, we're getting ready to roll out a new version of Booksie that will incorporate many of your previous comments. I hope you on early as a beta-tester. More to come.
