Pack your bags and leave LA

Move to Northwest Arkansas.

Leave behind the glitz and glamour

To relish the simple humor of Hee Haw.

Forget about cheering for USC

You’ll now be calling the Hogs.

Country roads replace freeways

Clear blue skies replace the smog.

How to become a Redneck

Simply add the colors white and blue.

They’re a part of the American tapestry

That’s made up of me and you.

The thought of living in Arkansas

Never crossed my mind.

I’m a Californian at heart

But I’ve found the south to be much maligned.

I guess I’m now a Redneck

The demolition derby, I do enjoy.

It’s a life I never imagined

But it’s a life that’s filled with joy.

ya I am in country territory here too and also from the city so can really identify with this.
ya its a whole new life, people are diff.
every body waves. heck if ya wave at someone in the city you could get ticketed for soliciting lol.
same as if you stand still on the street jsut to look up at the sky. oh Brian I jsut could never go back to the city now, and I never thought I'd ever want to leave. after your in arkansas for a while see if it happens to you too.

Great to hear from you again. Glad you liked the piece. I know what you mean, I love California but you have to put up with alot of garbage to enjoy the good. I don't think I'd ever move back there again. I must admit, that I like it here in NW Arkansas. Never thought I would, but it's a pleasant, peaceful, scenic place to call home.
