Seeking sex in a men's room

But Senator Craig's not gay.

He prefers the term bisexual

He feels better that way.

Politicians in this country

They're a sorry lot.

They're all amoral liars

That think they'll never get caught.

There's nothing wrong with being gay

I am quite queer myself.

But I don't troll for sex in restrooms

Senator Craig needs to admit it to himself.

Bisexual men are cowards

They hide behind their wives.

It assuages their fragile egos

So they live a double life.

The fact that he is gay

Is no reason to can the guy.

The fact that he is a consummate liar

Is a fact you can't deny.

Send him back to Utah

Where the deer and the Mormons roam.

Admit the truth and deal with it.

Senator Craig its time for you to go home.

Well Thank you! It was meant to be humorous...since our politicians are all jokes!

Thanks again,

Brian (bellavistabear)

wow that's really good. not familiar with senator craig nd his story cause I'm not american but all politicians lie and their sexuality shouldn't have to be something they feel the need to lie about

I love your work, it opens up new ideas to me so thank you very much for that xxx

HI Brian :) congradulations, your poem made front page. I gave you some more ratings '5' to help keep it there. :)
Personaly towards both politics and religion, I believe are just ways for people to separate themselves, and by doing that it also causes separation in Christ. other than that it's a good write worthy of conversation. take care, see ya later...katie.

Well thank you very much! As always, I value your input/comments and I appreciate your taking the time to stop by.

Take care,

I do live in Idaho, I am very familiar with the story of Larry Craig (hopefully by now no longer a senator) and agree wholeheartedly with what you say, and you said it so well! It's a case of shit or get off the pot (total bathroom pun intended). There is nothing shameful about being gay or bisexual. One just needs to admit it, stop lying about it, and stop hiding behing the "wholesome family image" our politicians are required (wrongfully so) to have. I know lots of people who are not considered "wholesome family images" but they are honest and they truly care about our country and the people who pay their taxes to support the government. Kudos! And, thanks for the chuckles, too! It was quite a humorous read. Take care ~ K :-)

Well thanks...glad you got a kick out the piece. Apparently he has resigned. As I said in the piece, I am gay..and being gay is not his crime. I just hate hypocrits and liars..especially when they're our elected officials. Yes they're only human and subject to the same temptations as everyone else. But like you said...admit the truth and deal with it. If he had, he's probably still be a senator.

Thanks for stopping by!

Brian (bellavistabear)

lol! That was really funny and good!

Thanks for taking the time to stop in, sit a spell...read alittle and tell me what you thought. I appreciate your taking the time. Glad you liked it..

Thanks again,

Hey...I really like this. I have no clue who this guy is, but your story spoke it well. But, don't you think that most of society is quite harsh about someone's sexual preference? Maybe if society wouldn't be so hard on him, he'd live what he wants to live. Or, I don't know...regardless great poem.

Thanks for your comments...He is (was) a Senator who was busted in a mens room sex sting. I agree, society worries too much about such trivial matters.

Thanks again!
