Found in Stone

The sculptor's chisel chips into solid
Marble in an attempt to dislodge this
Hidden man or woman, still hard to judge
For us common souls; so easy to miss.

Yet, quickly found by the tapping mallet
Is the polished skin of translucent white.
Flawless bodies, trapped in sturdy rock,
With unseen features of classic delight.
