The Daily Commute

The same train

at the same station

with the same

sleepy faces

in an ongoing

cycle of untouched

seasons, will

bring you to

your endless

hours of toil

in a cubicle not

your own, just

made to look

that way so you

will feel at home

away from where

you belong.

A journey festooned

with endless articles

about everything

and nothing that lasts

beyond the memory

of that styrofoam

cup filled,

not to the brim,

with weak coffee,

to give you the illusion

you're still awake.
