Life One Handed

Poetry By: Betts Crowell

This is supposed to signify my stubbornness, the same bullheaded feature I've had growing up. I always have to try something I know I shouldn't, get hurt & learn.

I wish I would learn, like when I was a kid & my parents told me if I tried riding the bike with no hands, I would get all scabbed up. Sure enough each time I did. I never did learn to balance myself properly enough for no hands. But I can ride with at least with one hand. My point is, some people can learn the easy time, the first time, naturally. But some people, like me, learn through mistake. Or sometimes it just makes me stubborn, instead of really learnin anything. So I hope one day, I can learn to balance everything out, the right way. I think I'm on the right track, but just in case, don't blame me for keeping both hands on, least till I feel safe enough, to go through life with the balance of one hand.
