A Masterpiece Needed

Poetry By: Bobby Evans

A poem about a man who gets news from a mysterious man. Write me a masterpiece or your wife dies. To find out the husband has the wife held in his room and he is just making himself write by any means necessary.

A Masterpiece Needed

This man came up to me and told me he kidnapped my wife

"If you don't write a masterpiece I'll will feed her to the wildlife"

I was speechless I asked "what do I write about"

"Your a writer you'll figure it out, I have no doubt"

What do I do

What the fuck do I do

I bet she is so scared right now

(I pause, I have to wipe the sweat from my brow)

Trembling hands make it hard to write

I only have one chance to get it right

I have a timeline but its unknown

Okay Bobby clear your mind get into the zone

Shit I cant concentrate

Okay (breaths deep) clean slate

Once upon a time

No no no in the writing biz thats nearly a crime

Okay okay on a dark and spooky night

No a masterpiece not a cheap fright

Shit what to do her life is on the line

Okay first a storyline

(scribbles insanely hard)

Are you serious out of ink

Okay I'll grab a pen from the bedroom

As I walk into the bedroom I smell my wives perfume

"Babe I called out", searching frantically

I open the closet doors and there is my love, my beauty

Safe and sound in my arms I free her hands and ungag her

"Me, what did I do"

"Where you going?"

As she runs out the door I just smile and go back to my writing
