Captured moment

The bed is unmade
The covers all ruffled
A sock lies abandoned
A shoe is unlaced

The cobwebs are wafting
The dust unmoved
A book lies discarded
The pages all red

A dolls house is derelict
Blocks all unmade
Slumped in the corner
A teddy bear cries

OH, how sad! It speaks of loneliness and longing. It seems like a domestic kind of longing to me, if that makes sense. And there's a sense of incompleteness to the person and their feelings becasue of the unmade bed, the one sock, the unlaced shoe. The saddest part of course was the teddy bear crying at the end. It speaks of loss to me. I really, really like this one Boneman. I think you've outdone yourself! :)

Thank you Dragonfly.

As I said elsewhere I am not sure where this came from. I was having many thoughts at the time, some about my past, some about the present as well.

oh boneman, this made me really sad, just imagining that scene. the crying teddy bear at the end made me cry too. every childs room should be full of life and love. no child should suffer. like the play on words with the red book. very clever. i agree with dragonfly you have excelled yourself with this.
peace and love
always your friend

Thank you Snow.

It made me cry writing it, especially when I came up with the teddy bear crying. It could be the saddest image I have ever written.

A teddy should comfort a child and be full of all the love you can give it.

Forever and always

Evocative, very sad. Could speak of many things - the loss of innocence of a child due to abuse, an adult weeping about the loss of childhood and things past - wondering what has happened to their life, (this could also relate to an adult who has an addiction, is grieving, depressed, many things)
A succinctly written poem that tugged at my heart strings.

Thank you Anna for your kind comments.

As I said it could mean many things, I was thinking a lot when I wrote it.

Peace

Speaks volumes of childhood hurts gone but never forgotten. Of longing to be loved and wanted not abandoned and discarded. Beautifully written. Lydia

Gosh this one had me crying too...cannot imagine a room like this ...never in my wildest dreams also...

It sounds so scary...there is nothing as sad as a room like this...

U brought out the truth inside all of us , the truth from which we all try to run away but could never do it....
