Today (inside my head)

Today

I almost screamed today. Today it was almost too much. Inside my head the echo is

sounding.

I cried today. Today the tears breached the wall and fell from a hole deep in my soul. Inside my head the tears are still falling.

I was scared today. Today the fear consumed me. Inside my head I am terrified

I held a woman today. Today I took comfort in her arms. Inside my head I am still holding her.

I had a nightmare today. Today the dreams were not kind to me. Inside my head the nightmare continues.

I thought of someone today. Today she forced her way into my mind. Inside my head she is still there.

I heard the voices again today. Today they muttered to my soul. Inside my head the voices are shouting.

I saw a child today. Today the child was crying. Inside my head the child is weeping.

I saw Death today. Today the reaper cleans his scythe. Inside my head he is still there.

I felt pain today. Today my body hurts. Inside my head the pain is writhing.

I took medication today. Today the prescription calmed me. Inside my head the pills are working.

I saw a day today. Today the time was fleeting. Inside my head is a better tomorrow.

Thank you for your kind words. Sadly some of my days are dominated by pain and dread thoughts.

Despite this I remain optimistic that there are better days ahead. I have the love of a very dear friend to help me through.

Tomorrow is a another day.

Sadly this poem does convey a lot of pain, but it does finish on an optimistic note. there is always tomorrow to come...

The comment thing works by another writer commenting on the poem or whatever and the author clicking reply and leaving their response. The authors comment then appears under the other persons comment.

Thankfully now these days are getting fewer now they appear to have sorted out some decent medication for what ails me. Still hurts I just dont care about it !
