In this darkness that I can’t seem to escape
In all this anger that keeps pulling me in
In this hate that has ahold of me
And all the bad things in life that try to hold me back
One thing gets me though
It’s not much but it will do
Just a little star light
And I’m doing all right
It’s dark and cold
When you go it alone
I’ve been there
And tried to forget
I’ve used everything
And nothing has worked
The pain always returns
And the hope fades away

Sometimes I imagine it’s all a dream
That it’s not real,
Something that beautiful can’t be mine
But in my darkest moments, when the end seem so far
I search and scan
Trying to find something to hold onto
When I’m adrift and floating away
When it feels like I’m lost at sea
One thing gets me though
It’s not much but it will do
Just a little star light
And I’m doing all right
Some days it hurts too much
Some days I just want to give up
Thanking about the road ahead
Overwhelms, and I’m lost on this path
Sometimes I have to hide
So no one can see my pain
Uncertainty and I become a ghost
Of what I use to be
One thing gets me though

I reach for it when I can’t see
What the future holds
When I’m uncertain what way to go
Which way is home
