The Knights of Pyrithia

Poem By: bookwormtom

The Knights of Pyrithia- the bravest of heroes, the swiftest of blades.
They are lightening.
They are wind.
They are death. View table of contents...

The Knights of Pyrithia

These lands that once were fair
are burned and scarred and torn
apart by an evil that has no lair,
born from the fires of spite and scorn.

The gates of hell unleash our foes
To tear our hearts and burn our souls
That now are heavy with many woes
And fears and terrors and endless holes.

But Pyrithia’s knights stand tall and proud
Against this growing evil upon our lands
And their steel blades ring clear and loud
Held by many quivering hands.

With courage in hearts and fear in mind
The heroes of men roar down the mountainside
With fire in front and heaven’s wrath behind
They blaze into war; a fearsome tide
Of blood and honour.

Is the fighting over? Is the war won?
Perhaps, for now, the demons of hell
Have scattered and gone,
And Pyrithia lives, healthy and well.

Love it, the title gives it a mystical feel yet it still has the pain of war. Nice job! ~ Nixie

this is really good, just like everything else you write! I don't believe in war though, fighting isn't the way to solve problems, but that's just my opinion. But i love this poem! Thumbs up :)
