Mystery Boy

Poetry By: brandonlawson

A high school girl goes to her school, and suddenly notices a boy who goes to her school as well. The difference between this boy and all the other boys she sees, is that this boy seems to drift away from the society at high school. He doesn't talk to anyone, he sticks by himself, but of all he is mysterious to her. He's more than just any other kind of loner at the school. All the other loners at the school are obvious on why they are loners, but this boy isn't; he's a mystery to her. The things he do, how he does it, how he talks, walks, and lives has all caught her attention for her to observe this boy and understand the mystery behind him.

Mystery boy, mystery boy, mystery boy

Who you are, and what is your joy

I see you walking through the hallways

As if they are endless days

You always have your headphones plug in

With your music on loud you cannot hear the wind

It seems you are keeping yourself in and everyone out

So you won't know them and they can't find you out

You always stay quiet without a sound

I search for words out of you but they cannot be found

In class you keep to yourself and the books

You don't even say hi to the girls with the looks

It seems maybe you're not all right up in the head

But I saw your grades and this is what it said

All A's and nothing less or more

You truly strive and you soar

I wonder how can you really be a happy young man

If you have no one to talk to and no where to stand

You are a loner but I kind of admire you

How you stick to yourself and don't follow what the crowd do

You are such a mystery

And for that, you attract me
