Heart ripped out

blood streming like tears

from dried cracked hands

wishing dirt was over head

instead of blue and clouds

I gave everything

love.

body.

me.

threw it all away

like a burned out cigarette

I gave you my heart on angel wings

promptly putting the angel in a cage

while the angel offered my love

taughting and teasing

in a hidden way

squeezing every drop of life

from a once perfect heart

then tossing the dried up remains

of love

back in the cage still not setting the angel free

in keeping her

also keeping me

slowing killing me

only sign of life

blood dripping down

hitting the floor
