These are words I'm trying to appreciate and use more sincerely. Very lovely way of putting them, especially since they're tossed around so carelessly.

pratibha, hi! i'm so glad u wrote. this is weekend and i was chatting with my younger sis in india. earlier her emails used to fill my email box but now it is booksie comments. and although weekend is a strict no no for any work, my hand automatically went to answer each one.

i work in customer service dept. and i love it as i meet lot of people. most people are nice and some not so nice. but i learnt a lesson from my supervisor (not that it was needed as we're a great team), "give ur 100%" and that's what we all do. we are great talkers, great(er) smilers - all 100% genuine. our customers' satisfaction reflect on our faces and we pass it on. i didn't talk so much earlier, i was quite reserved and quiet but in this setup, that is kaput.

most utter these (powerful) words out of courtesy, for us it is a labor of love. it is another thing, of course, we get paid for it. (that's the icing on the cake.)

nothing is difficult if you can afford risks and challenges. and east indians are masters of these. these words are but a simple feat.

sorry, for taking up so much of ur time. have a nice weekend. until next...

Yes you are right. The simple everyday messages mean the difference, more people should remember. The piece is a little obvious but that's just what I think

hi! lacey. i look forward to featuring u in my top 10 but i don't do novels (paucity of time). no matter what, i visit ur page for the pink of the photo. it stands out. (weird, eh!)

Words to live by.. Those very words we as parents teach our children when they're small, but somehow we forget to use them ourselves.

Personally, I cannot identify with the word 'nice' - as your poem expounds, inflates, the simple 'niceness' and gives so much the less said, the more said... and expressed in such simple one-liners... more than can be expressed by simply saying 'thank' as i do to you. It reminds me so much of my 'all american/canadian' experiences, if i dare compare!!!! but the wholesomeness the shines through is so true to your part of the world... 'have a nice day', 'you're welcome', remains .......'so universal' as in S.Africa we say 'Sawubona' - 'hello, how are you'...i reminds us all 'universally' that is and do 'have a nice day'

Hi Bubbles,

Simlpe words, that acknowledge the worth of another human being. Acknowledge that they are alive, have value and purpose, and should be given respect.

Well done.As 100% Canadian as maple syrup; flowing sweetly on the tongue.

hi! azmat. ur comment is always welcome. most of the words mentioned r used in everday canadian greetings. i was displaying my canadian pride, that's all. silly of me. ;-)

Bubbly ` you'd be so very amazed at just how much these words mean to me when a stranger says them. Like the grocer, a store clerk. It makes life so much more pleasant for the giver and reciever of the words. Great Job!

"G'daye Mate"
and we'll ask you
"How's things?"
(or if you follw AFL?)
and we'll do things like "adopt a pensioner" when the governments of the day don't give a damm.
