Pain.
We've all experienced the feeling
expressed in looks and words
we all know the definition
hidden beneath layers of clothes
out in the open beneath bright, probing lights
we cannot hide from darkness
we cannot fight the darkness
we can only adjust our eyes
we can only expose it for what it for what it is.
