I'm drowning in my pillows,
My sheets are an ocean I can't escape.
The darkness falls around me,
But I still can't sleep.

I'm twisting and turning back and forth,
I can't hear a single thing.
This is how I escape the nightmares,
And I quietly start to sing.
    
I try to forget the pain,
That my nightmares cause me so.
And when you told me good night,
To stay awake was a fight.

I can't fall asleep,
For my nightmares haunt me.
As I'm sitting in my bed,
There's not one thing I can see.

So much for 'good' night,
More like a sad happy ending.
And where have those happy dreams gone?
That answer's still pending.
