More Than Sound

Poetry By: Carina

Wrote this for Creative Writing class last year, to the recommendation of my teacher that writing music-based poetry was my strongest subject.

The piano, a stage
For me, myself and I
I let go what's pent up inside
Smiles, laughs, tears, and rage

And turn it into glorious harmony
With the earth
To which no one has heard
Of this melody

My fingers dance upon the keys
Creating many colors
Painting a picture like no other
My spirit finally frees

The song drifts away
And draws to a close
To the back of my mind it goes
Until another day
