Till My Fingers Bleed

Poetry By: Carina
Poetry

Do you ever have that desire to write? Not the kind that's like, "Oh, I think I'll write something today." No. The overwhelming sense to write, that powerful compelling force. One that's so powerful that you just NEED to write, no matter how random, horrible, or crazy it sounds? Maybe you understand, maybe I'm just crazy haha. Either way, I literally could NOT sleep one summer night because of it... and this was the result. Enjoy! (I hope lol)

'Till My Fingers Bleed

Weary, drowsy, and tired am I
I must say, for I have had no sleep
For tonight I sit here, by the fire,
And write 'till my fingers bleed

Thoughts buzz about in my head
A torturing beehive to say the least
And until they are finally put to rest
I will never find a moment's peace

But I cannot think, not one little bit
The words just can't seem to come
So tonight, by the fire, here I will sit
Until my thoughts appear, one by one

I'll write a composition of words!
Maybe a symphony of dreams!
It will be like no one's ever heard,
But only in my wildest fantasies

So I will dream on tonight,
A dreaming without sleep,
And take my time, by the fire
Writing 'till my fingers bleed

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Soft lullabies form in my brain
And slowly calm me to sleep
At the piano, I sit by candle flame
Playing 'till my fingers bleed

My hands dance across the piano
With chords, notes, and melodies
The notes in my head forever go on
As I play 'till my fingers bleed

But the notes' sounds are ill-timed
And never seem right to me
But here I will sit by candlelight
Playing 'till my fingers bleed

I must finish this masterpiece!
It else will not exist without me!
A story told through music's voice
Filled with wild emotions and fantasies

So tonight I create the soft lullabies
That else calm me to sleep,
And compose by sweet candlelight
Playing 'till my fingers bleed
