I see a light at the end of this tunnel
And my heart is filled with hope
I've endured this hostility for too long
I'm breaking free of this darkness.
But doubts collapse my bridges of chance
- Shielding the winds of change.
They crash like waves on our beach of promise
Leaving me to salvage my driftwood heart.
They whisper the warnings of sowing seeds
On barren and broken sand.
But dig deeper and fertility flourishes
Beneath layers of regret and dismissal.
The light that's burning bright afar
Is a riddle in itself,
Is it the star we're yet to reach?
Or a flashbulb doppelganger of memories past?
We'll never know until we reach it
Whether it’s momentary or magical,
Ships passing in the night or dropping anchor to stay.
Let's hope this lighthouse guides us home tonight.
